Shakespeare rocks the hood with Othello as a rap song. I’m not even kidding!
The Reduced Shakespeare Company
The Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) is a troop of three madcap men in tights who perform The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) — all 37 plays in 97 Minutes!
So, trust me. It really only takes a couple of minutes to watch this version of Othello. Hilarious!
Warning! Do not watch this video while operating heavy machinery, or when your boss is nearby. Seriously. I laughed so hard I cried!
Rapping Othello
Your turn…
What’s the funniest Shakespeare play/performance you’ve ever seen?
Oh my gosh, Elizabeth! You didn’t exaggerate, this is a hoot 😀 Not to mention, so very clever.
And that’s just *part* of their performance! They are seriously funny. 😀
That is hysterical! Where do you find this stuff! 🙂
A friend told me about the Reduced Shakespeare Company years ago and I bought the DVD of their performance of “The Complete Works of Shakespeare”. I laughed so hard, I was crying. Just had to share the hilarity. They’re genius!
The funniest non-Reduced-Shakespeare performance I’ve ever seen was a junior college performance of Much Ado About Nothing. It was set in old Mexico and this one character wearing a sombrero carried a *live* chicken around through the entire performance!
