Cats that Steal Dogs’ Beds
Last week I ranted did a post about the unfairness of the “scary cat” stereotype society has heaped on felines. Basically accusing cats of being villains. Or worse, pure evil.
Well … cough, cough … it appears this stereotype may– in some part — have been earned, much as I hate to admit it.
The following documentary is harsh, if not heartless. These felines shamelessly steal dogs’ beds, and then brazenly flaunt the stolen entitlement. But true to the Underdog characters we love, some canines fight back. It’s hilarious to see the lengths that some dogs go to to reclaim their prized cushions of comfort.
Cool! I rather liked the point in the middle where the cats were being towed about, still on the beds, refusing to leave them. ‘I shall sleep HERE, and no servant, or servant’s dog, shall disturb my rest.’ We had a cat once which met the neighbours’ dog – one of those small, nervous ones that resent having been bred down to size and compensate with noise. The dog turned up at the back door, with the neighbour and began doing its yap-and-bounce routine around the cat, who was sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor Which She Owned. The cat didn’t get her hackles up or anything like that, just backed up a bit and – SWAT. I was waiting for that effect where the dog wafts apart into four slices, but actually it scuttled off outside, leaving Her Majesty to continue occupying her Dining Room while Her Servants chatted with the neighbour.
I loved how the dogs improvised a solution. It’s amazing that animal interactions aren’t that much different than our own, though little more honest and up-front. No question in that dog’s mind where Her Majesty stood on the issue of his noisily invading the kitchen floor Which She Owned. 😉
Thank you, Elizabeth. I am so glad these videos had a happy ending!
Yes, me too. I loved the way the dogs decided to solve the problem. 🙂
Simply hilarious! Guess it’s no coincidence that Cat and Chutzpah both start with C. Love the gentlemanly behaviors of the dogs, despite being uprooted from their beds.
The beagle that went and sat in the cat’s way-too-small bed was just precious. I wanted to pick him/her up and give him/her hugs. 😉
