Today is the 1 Year Bloggaversary of my first blog post ever. Moonlight Serenade was a minimalist post, the sole feature being a video of an elegant tap dancing cow. To be honest, I was terrified of blogging and that was all I could eek out for a first post. I didn’t think about the statement the video was making at the time. But in retrospect, I see it as a symbol of dancing into a new endeavor where I’d meet a terrific group of new friends.
So that’s why I’m making it a bloggaversary standard. It’s a festive way to mark a truly life-changing occasion.
Because nothing says awesome like a tap dancing cow!
Thank you all for your enthusiastic support, making this past year (and the days to come) utterly AWESOME!
Now go grab a cup of hot chocolate, compliments of my tap dancing guest, sit back and watch her light up the dance floor in true Ginger-Rogers style. Eat your heart out Fred Astaire! [Image credit: Wikipedia]
I always kind’ve figured that this is just the thing that goes on when the sun goes down and the farmer has left the dairy barn! Fun and fabulous! Waving the *Happy* flag for your one year anniversary! Keep it coming Elizabeth!
Yeah, I think animals have an entirely different life going on when we’re not around. They have it wired. They make us think they’re less intelligent so we’ll take care of them, then hooza! They party hardy when the sun goes down. Thanks for stopping by, and for your continued support! Here’s to a successful year for us all!
Congratulations, Elizabeth! I’m toasting you with coffee, instead of hot chocolate, but the enthusiasm is the same.
😉
Oh, and LOVE the cow!!
Coffee is an excellent choice of “toasting beverage”. My tap dancing guest prefers a good Mocha herself. 😉
Elizabeth, my bet is your inaugural post and choice of the tap-dancing cow was your subconscious at work! Kinda like an inner crystal ball. Ooo. A fortune-telling cow! Not to take the limelight from the dancing dairy, but wouldn’t that be something?
As for the toast, is it too early for Kahlua? A brown cow might be in order.
I think my tap dancing guest would look bovinely divine in a turban. And with her talent, I’m sure she can hoof it and tell fortunes at the same time. As for the Brown Cow toasting beverage … it’s five o’clock somewhere. Toast on! 😀
Congrats to you on a year of blogging! I had a good-hearted chuckle with myself when I went back and read my first few posts. I remember the fear and the worry and the self-consciousness that almost kept me from hitting that publish button. It’s been quite the journey, hasn’t it?
Here’s to another year of fun-spirited posts! Long live the dancing cow! 🙂
It’s been a remarkable ride; one of empowerment, thrills, and outright fun. I actually had blogmares the first weeks of Kristen’s class. Looking back, I can’t remember what I was so terrified of. I basically started blogging because everyone (at conferences) said authors “have” to blog to build a platform. I keep blogging because it’s FUN. I love the community, and the freedom to write about most anything. Even tap dancing cows, may she reign over bloggaversaries for many years to come!
Congratulations Elizabeth on your Bloggaversary! Your cow is very festive and I’m loving the hot chocolate. Here’s to another great year!
Thank you Suzanne! I have to agree that Ginger (yes, that’s the cow’s real name!) makes a mean cup of cocoa. Glad you’re enjoying it. *Raises my cup of cocoa* And another great year to you too!
